How does PD work in this case

I am looking to see how feasible it would be to install a single storey extension on the rear of my L shaped property, essentially filling in some of the L shape and have tried to understand the PD rules but have just confused myself even more. I have attached a picture showing the floor plan and was wanting to make dimension A a max of 4m if this would fall under PD or what would i need to do to make it fall under PD.

The reason for the extension is to be able to change part of the room labelled as Study into an ensuite, soil pipe and such like already there in the corner by the kitchen and extend the kitchen to make a larger family room on the side.

Blue lines would be new single story extension, red lines where rooms opened up with steels to support and make the rooms one.

Assuming the floor plan shown is the original layout and the kitchen/study is not a previous extension then the proposed extension looks like it could well be permitted development as a "side extension".

Just confirm width of extension (A) is not more than half the width of house, not more than 4 metres tall, check eaves height etc.
 
Cheers, will get the tape measure out tonight to check that its not more than half the width of the house, The original layout is as per built in 2005 so there should not be any issue with that one

I am hoping that it will be quite simple as we are the back of a set of three houses in a horseshoe and nothing but fields behind us so no issues with right to light or anything from neighbours.

Do i still need to get an LDC?

As it is a fairly modern house it is worth checking your permitted development rights are still intact. Sometimes for new housing developments they remove permitted development.
LDC - this is not essential but can provide peace of mind and can be useful to have if you ever come to sell the house.
