Hi,

My Boilerman says I have a shower mixer issue with my sirrus TS1850 Stratus shower. I am having cold spells and he says the mixer needs cleaning and the scaling may be reducing water pressure and is confusing our combi boiler when to ignite.

My question is then if it's scaling, can I just strip it myself and clean it or is this a job for a plumber? I am quite handy around the house but unsure whether this is a job too far?

Thanks

Matt

you can clean the filters easy they are on the inlets to the mixer.
is it concealed or exposed mixer ?

if you do a total strip down you'll need a service kit with all the new o rings.

It is exposed. Not sure what I am doing to be honest, the boilerman mentioned a cartridge and/or something scaling up enough to reduce the outflow pressure.

bump, where are the valves into the shower? It's exposed but I can't see any valves to turn off the water flows?
