how long to leave lining paper to dry

Have just put up 2000 gauge lining paper
How long before I can emulsion it?

Depends on drying conditions.
I think 24h is too soon even in summer. I've known it too wet after a week in cold damp houses.
So to answer, give it 48h and have a look. If you think it's all dry then carry on and paint
