Our place is getting drywalled at the moment - I bought 35 sheets of 2.4*1.2 plasterboard.

Two guys have been working on this for about 4 days now - Does that sound long to you or not? I honestly thought it would take a lot less time to put these up.

Some of the boards have been dot and dabbed and others have been fitted to stud walls that were there previously

It is true a lot of these boards had to be cut but does putting up dry wall take such a long time?

Who knows? Did they quote for the job? If so, who cares how long it takes them?

They are getting paid by the day - So it does matter to me

It means we under budgeted for this !!! I am trying to see whether they are useless or we are optimistic

If you pay by the day then what do you expect? We can't see the job so we don't know. What sort of day rate are you talking? And are they Brit tradesmen?

I would struggle to see where it takes 4 days to fit 35 boards.

However, as said, i don't know a darn thang aboot it.

34 boards in 4 days, say 9 boards per day max.
One board per hour? Hmmm; my careers adviser at school was wrong, then.

Why not post up pictures of all the rooms
this way we can see exactly what they have been up to and any problems that they may have had to overcome

For example a wall 5m long with no opening or sockets to cut out for will only take around 40 - 60 mins max
The same size wall that has doors ,Windows and Sockets will obviously take much longer ...

So without seeing your premises it really would be impossible to say 100% you are getting ripped off

If there are windows, doors and sockets on every wall. four days is still a long time!
