Plumber has quoted X number of days to re-fit our ensuite. He is working on a daily rate and the timescale he has told us seems excessive. The room is 1400mm x 2200mm

Remove :-

existing shower tray / enclosure
Mixer shower
Basin
WC
tiles

Refit:

New shower tray and enclosure
Tiling (floor to ceiling)
new basin and WC (in current positions, although it will be a wall hung basin - current is a pedestal basin)
Relocate radiator to opposite wall and replace with towel rad
Fit 4 pod lights in the ceiling.

There are 2 plumbers doing this by the way.

Would appreciate some feedback on what you guys think this job can be turned around in.

Thank you

I don't do tilling or the lights cause those are specialist work in the same that plumbing is however for the plumbing no more than three days for one man plus materials.

Lights poss four to five hours plus parts.

Tilling? decent tiler two to three days plus materials

How long is a piece of string? Even on new houses there are plenty of unforeseen bodgeups done by the guys who built the house and there is no incentive to get on with the job from your plumbers... Get them to give you a price to do the job, if they are any good then they'll be able to give you a price, if not then find someone else...

Just because the room is a small one doesn't mean that the price will be less.. Try fitting two guys in a small room to work around each other. It is usually more difficult.. You still have the same number of fittings going in, just a few less tiles

From my very limited experience I would say 8-10 days for one person would be a fair estimate.

Removal: 2.5 days
Tiling (assuming surface is okay after tile removal): 3.5 days
Fitting shower, WC, basin: 1.5 days
Radiator (inc, drain down and re-fill): 1 day
Spare: .5 days

Then again I'm a bit slow...
