How many border tiles do I need?

The company doing my new bathroom installation told me to go to a tile supplier and choose the tiles I need and they would pick them up.

I went to "Tile It All" and they were extremely unhelpful, so could anybody tell me the easiest way to work out how many border tiles I will need, and how to calculate how many decor tiles I should buy. By decor tiles I think I mean the patterned tiles you put up at random to break the monotony of the main tiles.

measure the area you need, length times height.

choose your tiles and find out the measurement of those, example 200mm x 250mm is 20 tiles per square meter.

so if you have 20 square meters and choose said tile you will need 400 tiles

work out how many decor tiles you want and subtract from the total area.

for border tiles find out total linear meters that you need and then if its 15 meters and your tile is 300mm length you need 50 border tiles.


and dont forget to buy 10% extra to allow for damages and cuts.
