How much should I expect to pay??

Hello everyone.

Hoping to get some input from someone regarding the costing of some building works needing carried out in my flat. The work is well outwith my scope of knowledge so will have to get the professionals in.

Ive had plans approved from the council to knock down a load bearing internal wall to create a open planned kitchen/diner

I have been quoted ~£1100 for the steel work and wondered what would be reasonable to have builders knock down the wall and install the steel beams?

I have added a few photos to give an idea of the scale of the project

Including the steel that's a reasonable price imo.

Get another couple of quotes.

the £1100 is for fabrication and supply of the steel alone. Ive only had one quote for the whole job so far and they wanted £4000

That is too much surely?
