How old is boiler

I moved into my house about 8 months ago and have a floor mounted Ideal Mexico Super CF3/50 floor mounted boiler,I havent had any problems with it but was wondering is there any way of roughly knowing when it was manufactured by the serial number.

It would give me a rough idea as to when it was fitted as the old dear who owned the house couldnt remember all i had was last years service receipt.

PX 151770 9936 01357 is the number printed on the sticker inside the cover

I would guess its probably about 20 years old.

But thats irrelevant as that type is very reliable.

They are just inefficient and a modern condensing boiler would usually reduce gas bills by about 25-35%.

What's the betting that 9936 is the year and week of manufacture?

The Sedbuk database has this model listed as "current" in March 2000.

Thanks for the replies I emailed ideal boilers and they came back with it was manufactured in Nov 97 so im guessing prob fitted late 97 or early 98
