how old is old???

just reading through the car bit and would HAVE LIKED to have been able to reply to a 4x4 post from just over a month ago but its locked as its "old" WTF thats not old IMO.
So just how old does a post have to be before its classed as too old to reply to?

In the car section not many post or don't post right away, so it could could take days/weeks even longer for a reply. I posted ages ago on there and the last time i looked it was still near the top of page 1.
