Hello everybody, just bought a flat and new to DIY. I have had a leaking tap in my flat for a while so last evening I decided to tackle it, it is the hot water tap of a monobloc system for my kitchen sink. Quarter turn taps with a single spout.
My question is how does the tap actually work?
I removed the cover, then unscrewed the black plastic surround, then I removed the spindle type section inside. I understand that when turning the knob the spindle is rotated and closes a gap with what appears to be a thin disc of white plastic in-between.
When I removed this spindle part out popped two little black plastic tubes and two springs.
I'm thinking of removing the whole system and replacing it with one that has normal screw down taps, they seem to be a whole lot less trouble.
Just hoping somebody could let me know how this monobloc tap works, I cant find anything on the internet.
Thanks.
