Hello,

The flush on my toilet has started to play up - it is a push button flush, and increasingly needs several presses in order to stop it from filling and having water overflow into the bowl.

I was going to replace the flush mechanism but I've got no idea how I am supposed to access it. The cistern is "hidden" under a worktop, as per the attached pictures.

Am I really going to have to remove the worktop to do this, or is there some trick that I am missing?

Thanks,

Ackoman

If you're lucky, the flush mechanism will be on a type of bayonet fitting and will come out having turned it half a turn.
Failing that, cut the sealant where it joins the pan, and the should slide up and out, you'll have loads of room then.
If by chance the idiots have screwed the panel in, then you'll have to pull the pan forward.

Disconnect the flush button and remove that small panel in picture 4 for better access then remove the panel shown in pictures 2 & 3

Welcome to our world of gynaecological surgery.
Everything that moves will eventually wear out or break. Please allow for this (it's called access for maintenance) when having ANYTHING installed.
