Hi,

I am attempting to install some exterior PIR lights to illuminate a pathway around the side of my house.

The old part of the house has a "stucco type" exterior finish which I presume has been achieved with some kind of plaster? The house build dates from the 1950's I think?

I have chased the wall for the cables and will plaster over them in due course, but how can I create the same type of finish to match the existing wall? Should I use a particular type of plaster?

Help gratefully received from a DIY-er with limited experience in the matter!

fill the chases out flush with sand/cement 5:1 and some waterproofer.
wait for it to cure and flick (not throw)sand / cement sbr slurry over it with a stiff bristle brush, something like a stiff pasting brush.
You’ll need to mask the already painted surrounding wall.
A tyrolean gun would be ideal but a tad overkill for chases and not worth buying one just for that.

or fill the chases out level and fling some crushed stone at it while it’s wet.
