How to block unwanted calling numbers on most recent mobiles

This is very clever and can stop you getting disturbed by all those Kitchens Direct and the phone upgrading firms.

We get very many unwanted calls as we are listed in many telephone directories and on line listings for boiler repairs and plumbers. Most days we get more callers from spammers than genuine customers and particularly at quiet times like the summer.

What this does is to list the unwanted numbers in the phone memory and assign a special ring tone to them.

The trick is that its a specially chosen and downloaded ring tone which is SILENT !!!

Of course it will still flash the display and show up on the call log but will not ring just as you are soldering a joint or making a live connection.

You can register mobile numbers with the telephone preference service. Companies are legally obliged to not call numbers from the TPS list for sales and marketing calls.

The legislation only applies to UK companies Mark and many route their calls through overseas gateways ... Random diallers at night generally do the same ... Life will find a way

I have a windows mobile PDA phone, with software to manage all calls.

Accept only family/personal calls - eg no business calls for weekends/evenings

reject new/selected/unknown/withheld numbers

Rejected calls can be sent to answer phone or just ignored - no ring/no answer

Select times for the call management - eg early morning, meetings, lunch/evening time

You can also send an automated text to rejected mobile calls with a message of your choice

It can also manage unwanted text messages too.

It's one of the best programs to have on a phone
