How to but a screw bit in half

I need to screw my number plate in.
I have a really small space. Impossible to get any screwdriver in - the space must be 15mm.
I purchased a ratchet wrench, that is almost the right size - but just 2mm too much. Or maybe I need more space to allow for the screw head.

So... I thought... if I can cut a standard screw bit in half, that would be perfect.
I've only got a jigsaw saw. Cutting it in half would be a dangerous job! I need to have held by a clamp of some sort.

I've got a Work Bench Saw Horse Clamp Table (had to look up the name!)
I could probably use that very carefully.

Any other ideas?

Can't think of any car that hasn't got access to get a screw in.

The plate needs to be readable so can't be covered.

What car is it ?

You would not use a jigsaw

A junior hacksaw might do

Do you mean the screw you have got is too long? Buy some shorter ones.

What are the dimensions of the screw you have, and what size do you want?

You will probably need a drill.

Post some photos as I don't understand your problem.

I went out and tried to take a photo. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the flash!

I bought this item to try and screw in a screw:

It's neeeearly just right. But I still need a few mm more.

Screw bits, I think the standard small size is 25mm.

Junior hacksaw...? Hmm... surely that will be the same as a jigsaw?

EDIT: the screw bit I have is 25mm. I spent a few min searching, you can't get smaller than 25mm from what I can see?

A junior hacksaw might do

Slim chance. I'd use a grinder

Obtain a 1/4 inch combination spanner:

Cut your screw bit down and place it in the screw. Hold it in place with a slim screwdriver then use the open end of the spanner to turn the bit 1/6 to 1/3 turn at a time

Alternatively glue the bit into the ring end and turn 90 degrees at a time by removing and reapplying the bit to the screw

Presuming this is some sort of "a thing with sides is attached to the car and a larger cover/border goes over it with screws through to retain the outer" device

Could you also consider drilling the top holes out a bit on just the part that is attached to the car (so the screw threads will drop into them without needing to be screwed. The wind the screws through the outer cover while it's off the car, then offer the cover up and drop it in place at the top and screw in the bottom; it will be as secure with the top fixings as "pegs" rather than screws

if you have an iPhone and are trying to work out how to force activate flash, when you open camera and you see "CINEMATIC PHOTO PORTRAIT PANO" at the bottom, swipe up about an inch starting from anywhere around the middle of the screen. That will reveal a menu you can use to turn flash from auto to on

Try taking another photograph, this time use a better camera and not a potato.
That pic is pointless.

The question still stands, why can you not screw your number plate in?
What vehivel are you trying to fit it to? 99.9% of all cars the plate is easily accessable.

Ah, you mean a screwdriver attachment insert?

They are made of a very hard steel to resist wear. Very difficult to cut.
