How to connect to 2x6's together ?

Hi, I am in the planning phase of a new work shop and need some help. I am trying to build a shop that is 20 feet wide but I can only find 2x6's that are 16 feet long. How would a make a floor frame that is 20 feet wide ? Is there a way to join 2 boards together that would work for the floor joists ??

2" x 6"s over 20 feet!

You need to re-think your joist sizes my friend. You would be better off finding a mid-span bearer to collect some 2" x 6"s, effectively halving the span. Maybe a brick wall or steel beam perhaps.
