Hi all,
Hoping for some advice. I’m renovating a small house where the bathroom was downstairs, but we’ve moved it upstairs and are creating an open plan space downstairs. The bathroom floor was raised by a few inches above the rest, and after we took the stud walls down we discovered this was done with a concrete slab laid on top of a load of loose stone. We’ve removed the slab, but now have a load of loose stone which takes the floor to around the same level of the rest of the living space. Any advice on how to get the whole thing level ready to lay tiles on?
It’s not something I’ve ever seen before and we’re thinking the best thing to do would be to pour some concrete over the stones until roughly level then use self-levelling compound across the whole floor but that’s just total guess work.
It’s a bit hard to describe so have attached pics of the floor before and after we removed the slab.
Thanks in advance!
