How to extend a dishwasher drain pipe

Dishwasher sits about 1.5m from the existing drain so the supplied drain is not long enough to reach. What can I do?

1. Extend the pipe by joining another onto it? If so, how best to make the join?

2. Buy a longer drain pipe? If so, where from as Screwfix only do 1.5m - which isn't enough after a couple of ups and downs.

You can buy an extension hose and suitable adaptor and with a couple of jubilee clips its all done.
