Hi all,

I'm doing some maintenance on our drive and there is a gap where the last slab ends and the pavement. looks like previously it's been filled with concrete? Is this the best option? Can't imagine cutting a slab up into triangles to fit instead but maybe you can? With the concrete route I assume it's a job that would have to be done every few years?

Thanks for the advice

Cutting a slab would look less untidy imo but you could lay some of that quick setting concrete, or maybe extend the gravel across the whole of that front area

Thanks, yeah I know what you mean but can you really cut accurate shapes and not end up cracking them? I.e. with a brick bolster/chisel and hammer?

Why not buy another edging strip for the end of the driveway?
Thanks, as the triangular bits of concrete are cracked I was going to lift them. Is an edging strip not very thin? The light grey edge I haven't inspected too much but almost looks like slaps on their edge but assume not very deep into ground

I'm looking at the edge of the drive where it meets the pavement, not the gap where your slab meets the edge. You'd need a stonecutter and a careful eye to achieve a clean cut. I'd be tempted to just fill the edge with loose stone.

Yes, I had a disc cutter or angle grinder in mind.

Ok thanks, I dont have these tools unfortunately and don't really want to buy for a one off job. Maybe filling with gravel is best option then
