I've just put down some laminate and have covered all the gaps round the edges with that beading they sell, to tack on to the bottom of the skirting board. Of course, I'm now left with some small exposed bits where the door architrave mouldings are curved. Is there some sort of beading product that will go round tight corners? (Inside radius of maybe half an inch or so). Are there any other tricks for covering those bits that people use? In the past, I've taken the skirting off and cut through the architraves but this is a very small room and I couldn't be bothered. Beginning to regret that now!

Only solution other than doing the job the proper way I know is to use the laminate coloured mastic most DIY stores sell, it will show but at least it will look finished and the mastic will allow some expansion.

Or carpet! ;)

yerrrs! you are supposed to cut under the architrave and slip the laminate underneath ...... which is a pig of a job, read nigh on impossible, if it's the click lock stuff!

Thanks chaps. I'll have a look for the mastic. This was a back porch and utility room. Both very small but 3 doorways in a couple of square metres! Yes, it was click-and-clock stuff and to make matters worse, it was pretend slate, so the boards were quite big. Had to cut every single board! Couldn't really have cut the architraves. I've done that on the bigger rooms, but couldn't face it in so small a space.

You have my sympathies... small rooms are an f'ing pain, just done our utility turned out nice but a real PITA.

Quite simple , cut the lock section off and slide the board under the architrave using glue to secure.Only remove as much of the locking section as needed.

Not possible if you have a board spanning a doorway you would have to remove the whole of the lock section, also to get the lock bit to engage the board has to be offered up at about a 30 degree angle.

That's the situation I was in. It was the utility room (about 3m x 2m) and back porch (about 2m x 1m). The boards were big too - about 400mm deep, I think.
