Just had new windows and the room skimmed. It's quite a good finish of plaster against the windows. Should I caulk before painting or just leave as is and paint upto the plastic?
If you have a clean crisp edge to work to you can just apply your paint, if however there are any gaps or voids you can use caulk and smooth back with a moistened finger.
If you apply paint without perimeter pointing the window you can often get cracking a few months down the line due to expansion/contraction of the window frame. You can use caulk and paint it or paint first and then point the frame with a low modulus silicone which will flex with the frame.
