Hello
I have a couple of jobs that need doing on my central heating.
We had cavity wall insulation done last week and now have a lovely toasty house. So much infact I need to turn the heating down a bit.
We have a Baxi Solo 2 PF boiler powering 7 rads. Of which all but two have TRV's fitted. I understand that what I need is a room thermostat to keep a more even temperature and not have the 2 rads without TRV's blasting out loads of heat.
Is this the kind of job that a pretty competent DIYer can do? Does anyone have a guide to accomplishing this or if this is something I need to get a plumber in, a rough idea of what it might cost?
Back to the TRV's for a moment. I want to move one from a rad that has one for another that does not. Can I just close the flow and return valves and unscrew the TRV or will I be upto my knees in water. (Simple instructions needed really)
Any help would be welcome.
Apologies if this is a bit basic. I have tackled a range of work around the home but are new to plumbing and heating.
