I have a Back and Decker MS2000 sander with a orbital pad that does not work. It stops when pressure is applied. The orbiter seems to rotate freely. Is there a bearing or a bushing that allows the elliptical motion that needs to be replaced? I seem to remember the orbiter pad would rotated in both directions when in use. Now it doesn't. Any Advice as how to fix it?

my ryobi 18v circular sander stopped rotating under pressure so took it to bits for a look and it was as simple as the mechanism had moved away from the contact area
i simply had to thump the pad when it stopped doing the random orbits
this happened after dropping it so iff you have dropped yours ??
