morning all, we have this tap which is coming out of a mirror in the bathroom. the lever is pushed towards to the mirror to turn it on but its only going halfway, you can actually feel some feedback in the level as if its catching on something so i havent forced it, you move the leaver round over the top for hot water and then towards the mirror and when the hot water is on it actually continues to drip and never fully off.

I can see a grub screw underneath the lever which looks like the only way to remove it. Just dont want to do that and water start coming out everywhere. is it case of undoing that and inside is a rubber washer or something like that?

thanks

You should be able to remove the grub screw and inspect without any water coming out. It sounds to me as though the cartridge has failed though.

Generally easy providing everything undoes easy enough and you can isolate the water ok. You need to get the correct cartridge though, they’re not all brass or the same dimensions. Looking at yours it’ll be specific for that tap.

thanks, yeah just watched a youtube video and seems simple enough, im assuming i only have one cartridge in my tap though compared to a mixer tap with a handle for hot and and one for cold. I will try to find out who made the tap and then go from there.

ive now found the tap and the make, the cartridge is £91!!!! on the stock photos it shows 1/2inch now is that a standard, will any 1/2inch cartridge fit, ive seen them about the £15 mark but look slightly different.

thanks

G1/2 is a standard , but your cartridge isn’t. Looks like you’ll have to pay that, get a new tap, or figure something else out.

Yes I saw something similar when I had a quick look, well done, might be worth a shot? Accept PayPal and visa, so some protection.
