I want to get Freeview but they don't cover my area. The Freeview bloke said that it wasn't a problem because I can get it on cable or dish, anyone know who supplies it and which is better?

A friend of mine had freeview with Sky once, but of course you have to have the box first. Our cable provider certainly doesn't provide Freeview via cable, you have to subscribe to a package.

Nor does mine but it's okay 95% of the time depending on the weather. Bought mine from Dixon's and they have a 7 days refund if you're not happy with it.

Which freeview bloke was it?

We have excellent reception. But their computer look-up system says we should get bad reception...from a completely different transmitter. One street down our way you can see the TV aerials pointing in three different directions. take your pick.

You need a digi aerial for best reception. If you are prone to poor reception on 2 & 5, then chances are you could benefit from a digi aerial. Round our way (NW) they start from 40 sovs.

With a poor aerial or reception, you are prone to missed subtitles, poor or non-existant interactive services and picture freeze.

Unless you simply have to have Freeview right now, I would wait. The government wants us all on digital TV in the not too distant furture so your area will be covered eventually. Also, those published coverage areas err on the cautious side. Borrow a digibox, hitch it to your aerial and see what you can pick up.
