How to hang a heavy picture on tiled wall (Ed.)

Alright peeps

I am in need of some advice please. Our kitchen is completely tiled from floor to ceiling and we would like to hang a canvas picture about our bar table. The weight of the canvas said 3kg. Everything we have tried does not keep the picture stuck on the tiled wall, we have used command strips still no good,,

If we can't place a canvas picture on an wall with outing drilling holes into them, then we are going to have to send the picture back

Hang it off the ceiling on stainless steel wires, look on Amazon they're on there for about £7.

Why not drill holes?
A couple of small holes & screws into a grout line would be straightforward and simple to repair, if the picture had to come down.

it is a rented property and we do not want to damage any of tiles by drilling holes and cracking them

I guess you can't use no nails product on tiles as well??

my suggestion
a hanging cord side to side behind the picture secured to the sides and long enough to hold below the top surface
then 2x1mm holes in the grout lines with picture hook nails in the holes to hang the picture off with or without the hooks
probably better without the hooks as they need the nails at an angle

as an aside iff you use a 3/8th or 8mm chuck the minimum drill you can grip is 1.5mm and a 12mm/1/2" is a 2mm bit

Pretty sure you could get a suction hook that would cope with 3kg.

In office where we could not drill I used aluminium flat section with Velcro to wall (tile) and form a hook behind picture frame . The canvas then hides the fixing .

3Kg is not a lot.

You could spend a tenner on a hot melt glue gun. Let the gun heat up, run some dabs of glue on the reverse side, line it up and push it to the wall. 30 seconds later, it will be locked in place.

If in direct sunlight, yeah, not advisable. Otherwise, go for it...

When you leave, use a sharp filling knife to cut through through the (erstwhile) hot melt glue. You can then scrape away any residue of the hot melt glue. It will come off the tiles.

If it is going to be in direct sunlight, use the hot melt glue and something like CT1. The glue will hold it in place whilst the CT1 cures. Both can be removed from the tile surface without damaging the tiles.

3Kg, 4 blobs of hot melt glue will lock it to the wall instantly. The CT1 will hold it in place regardless of direct sunlight.
