Hi there
I hope you guys can help. My shower temperature is stuck at scolding! Which my wife doesn't seem to mind, but I find way too hot!
We live in a hard water area and it's been in for around 12 years or so and it's therefore completely stuck. I'd love some help in identifying the make of shower mixer and also would welcome any tips to remove it as I'm not 100% sure whether I need to get an adjustable spanner on the hexagonal nut or whether I need to get a vice grip on the round serrated ring behind it? It's wedged pretty tight and I don't want to overdo it and damage the pipework behind the tiles as I'd love to avoid any re-tiling!
I've uploaded some images of the shower mixer - in one of them you can just about make out a stamp which looks like two triangles to me which might be a logo of some brand?
If I can remove them then I can try descaling them, but I think I will
probably need two new cartridges for the mixers and am hoping that if I can identify them then I can still buy them online and replace them myself and save myself a plumber 's bill. The closest I can find is:
https://www.showerspares.com/search/tcs-thermostatic-shower-cartridge-tcs100/
(But it's not quite identical).
Any help or suggestions would be very welcome.
