What would be the easiest way to install dry verge caps onto my small porch? Do I need to remove the mortar or can I just fix them directly onto the mortar as it's mainly for aesthetic purposes.
I'd imagine if you drill into the mortar it will just fall apart, I'd be tempted to use a decent polymer adhesive and glue a couple of pieces of tile lat to the mortar and screw the dry verge caps to that.
@jordanlm5, they're where the tiles overlap. You may want to hammer the mortar out at those points to be sure you're hitting them in the centre. You don't (shouldn't) need to use thick screws, but if the batten looks a bit rough you may want to pre drill it rather than straight wind a screw into it that will split it.
