Hi hopeless at DIY here but trying to loved the water level in my concealed cistern. Even with the the overflow some water drops out of the entry hatch in the front. I tried turning the red thread at 1. on my picture but think I've made it worse from what I've found I think I need to turn 2, on my pic but not sure. Thanks for any advice

would usually unscrew (anticlockwise) @1 to drop the float so the water lifts and stops it earlier.

Looks like turning at position 1 is correct but also looks like the float is half full of water which it shouldnt be.
