Hi all

Please can someone tell me how I can make a manhole cover for my decking?

Do I just cut a hole in the decking and connect the parts together?? And make some kind of rim for them to fit onto underneath? Will I need any extra wood? If so what type of wood would I need?

The one on the left is my manhole and the other is something like what I am looking for.

Thanks all

Yes, when you build the frame you'll need to make a base for the cover to rest on.
Use treated wood of course.
I would also use captive nuts and bolts to keep the cover steady but easily removable for inspection.
Stainless steel is best.
