Hi,

We have a pipe in the kitchen running vertically
from ceiling to floor and need to box it in somehow.
The issue is this pipe is going to be very close to
where the sink will be fitted so the narrower
we can make the boxing the better.

Does anyone have an idea which materials would
be best for this project?

The upper part of the boxing will be painted and
bottom part will be tiled (small tiles).

Use self adhesive trunking available from electrical suppliers. It comes in various sizes and can be painted/tiled

Thank you for the ideas.

We have gone for marine plywood 9mm,
hes going to put it up as close as possible to
the pipe (think its an old lead waste pipe)

The top of the pipe is fatter so I guess the box will
be an L shape around it at the top. We are only
gaining a few cms, but unfortunately it is where the
sink will go and we have been warned it will be
tight getting the sink in.

I would have used ply as well, pretty much any ply would have been fine there, the only trouble is having to buy a whole sheet just to do that, so I'm assuming someone had some left over ...

There's very little space there to fit a batten, are you going to screw direct to the wall ?
