Par for the course for me unfortunately.

So I posted up a few weeks ago a problem I knew I would run into but because I didn't have any photos because it wasn't build then, it was difficult to explain so asking again with the photos.

By all means have a pop at it. I'm sure the clips are wrong, noggins are not all in yet and probably a million other things but its only a shed for storage.

The joists finish on the dwarf brick wall.
How to finish these joist ends? Where should the floorboard stop. And where will I position my uprights (3x2 I'm thinking) ? As you can see I've screwed a piece of joist at the end but now its gone over the 4.8M which might mean messy floorboard cuts.

I suppose I could paint or clad that length of "end joist" before building over it but I don't really want it to be a bearer of any kind as its only held by 16 screws - 2 for each joist. So should I set back my uprights or maybe have them straddle the end beam and the end of the joists?

Thanks for reading and any ideas I get gratefully received.

Personally, I would take that end joist off, trim the other joists back and refix the end joist so it's flush with the outside of the dwarf wall, then batten and clad down over the joint so water is drops away from the wall.

Hopefully there's a nice dpc under those wall plates. I'd stick a sheet of DPM on the ground and weigh down with some bricks to prevent weeds growing through the floor.

Thanks a lot mrrusty. I had thought of doing away with that end joist and cladding the ends of the main joists directly as I was wary about the main joists being left with only 50mm or so on the wall. But I'm now passed the point of no return cutting the joists down and I'm doing it your way.

Thanks again !
