What's the best way to repair this bathroom ceiling? A section had to be cut out due to a leak, and I'm planning to cut a square (as neatly as possible) and install a plasterboard panel.

I'll add wooden noggins where needed to secure the plasterboard with screws.

Put timber in along the 2 edges I can see in photo against walls. Will stop the flex and wall and ceiling line cracks.
Put timber in behind the old board and protruding out to take the new board on remaining two edges. I can't see if any there at the moment .
So that's timber around all four sides.
Cut board.
I PVA the dry edges on new board and existing board .
Fit board and 38mm drywall screws along all four edges.
And the cross timbers
