Stripped wallpaper off and I'm left with this. How would I prepare this wall for painting? Thanks

Steamer damage? Looks like it..
Need to get the emulsion off and make good walls.
Lining paper is another option.
 
As above... if you want a decent finish, use lining paper. 1000 or 1200 grade (thickness) and the minor imperfections should not be visible.
