How to release tap

Hi
Our kitchen tap is leaking, i reckon the ceramic cartridge/washer probably needs changing.
However im getting no luck undoing this thing, i was hoping someone could possibly shed some light on this.
underneath the tap swivel handle is a hex screw, ive undone this, but this doesnt loosen the handle in anyway, ive tried to move it along, but any more pushing it, will probably break it!
i took a picture, if it helps.

unscrew the allen screw and pull the whole handle upwards.

Sorry, i meant to say im trying to move the handle off after unscrewing the hex screw.
it just doesnt want to move, ive tried undoing the screw slightly and also completely undoing the screw and then trying again, but no change.

its just stiff

pull straight up. its sits on a white plastic square

but unless you know the exact make and model you wont be able to replace cartridge anyway.
\almost certain you are best of with new tap.
