I heard somewhere that Hairspray works but I haven't tried it myself. Spray a clean cloth with some and try it on a scrap of leather/old shoe etc first if you can. Let us know if it works.
1. There is a product called BRILL which is an allround household cleaner. When the sales man called at my door he removed biro from a cloth with this cleaner. The cleaner was £25 for a litre.
2. I used to work in a dry cleaners. To remove biro amonia was applied causing the biro to vannish. If acid was then applied the stain re appeared. Presumably the amonia nutralised the ink. Perhaps this is what the brill cleaner does.
