Hi There, I am having temperature problems with my Shower unit. The Shower is about 15 years old and has no makers name either on the Shower valve or the purchasing documents.
I have attempted to remove the cartridge with the aim to replace it or clean out the void.
I have removed the grub screw in the hole opposite the pillar/handle on the temperature control side. I thought the adjustment handle would screw out (to reveal another grub screw) but it doesn't seem to want to move and I don't want to put undue pressure on it.
There doesn't seem to be any other hole ( e.g. on the underneath of the main body. The end bit is now sort of loose but is still being restrained.
Can anyone help me please. I have attached photos to help.
Many Thanks, Keith

Hi Andy, Many Thanks for your reply. Yes,, it makes complete sense to replace the Mixer valve. I have had a look at the Rize Unit that you have suggested. Can I ask you a couple of things about it please? I was a bit worried about the spacing of the water inlets (140-160mm) when mine is exactly 150mm so would I need some form of adapter?
Also, is the Hot water incoming flow on the Left as you look at the unit from the Front please.
Also, I'm getting on a bit but still able to sort this for now, but the Rize has only a 2 year warranty and I do note that it is extremely cheap.

Thank you for that Exedon, yes I have had a look at the : Bristan - Frenzy Cool Touch Thermostatic Exposed Bar Shower Valve.
It's got a 5 year warranty. Are you familiar with them please?

Thanks to Andy (Herts P&D) and Exedon, I have changed the shower mixer (Bar) for a new Bristan Frenzy and it's great.
Just to say, that the guy who fitted it had attached fibre washers on the end (tip) of the threads jutting out of the wall. Probably to tighten on to the existing shroud and therefore to tighten up to the old bar. I had to get two smaller shrouds to tighten it all up but it's great!
Thank you again and Best Wishes, Keith
