How to remove thecover from a worcester greenstar 28i junior

Need to replace the MT10 timer have looked at the instructions below section 2.1 - to remove cover but it doesnt mention which screws to undo
to achieve this - it doesnt just slide off ?

Worcester want £250 to do this but I can but the timer for £40.

The front cover is actually the combustion chamber cover and as such should not be removed/replaced unless you are capable of performing safety checks afterwards.
Do you not have the MI's?

I just want to replace the MT10 TIMER programmer which you need to remove the cover for, just want to know how ?

As you have been told,the cover is part of the combustion chamber.No GSR on here will tell you how to remove it,you need to get a GSR heating engineer or plumber to do it.

Hey Phil,

Im not familiar with forums and even more boilers. Im experiencing the same issue. My timer is losing time and like you I can figure out how to open the dam clock. Im not paying £250 for a £40 part… I will keep researching and update this post.

The timer may well only cost £40.00 but the rest of the money quoted is to remove the front cover which is part of the combustion chamber.
Replace the clock replace the cover and carry out the legaly required safety checks. This is not a diy job if you do not replace the cover properly products of combustion can leak and are DEADLY.

Phil, the £250 will most likely be the fixed price to repair the boiler. The price remains same regardless of what is done by the Worcester man. It could be to replace an essentail crew costing £0.01 for 10 screws or a heat exchanger costing £999.99

My advice to you would be to get an installer to replace the internal clock for an exrternal one, better still get a programmable roomstat for enhanced boiler operation.

In fairnesss though, they may well spend another 15 to 20 hours looking for the information they need which, at £10 per hour will supercede the cost of paying someone who both knew how to open it, make the repair, close it and test for leaks aftwerwards with the appropriate tools and equipment. What a bargain

+1 you would do well to get a good local RGI in to sort it for you may save some money.
