How to remove this extractor fan?

I would like to remove a bathroom extractor fan from the exterior wall for cleaning.
There are these plastic covers on it - what are they called and how are they removed?

Remove internally, would need a pic or name and model to be more helpful

Normally they are screwed on
Looks like that's been held on with silicone
