Hi all.

Looking for advice on repairing some scratches in the top of our wooden garden table.

I've put a couple of photos below.

The scratches don't seem too deep but I think they'll need more than a light sand to get them out.

Is there any hope for repairing scratches like this?

I was thinking that perhaps I could sand down the whole table using an orbital sander to remove the scratches? Would that work?

Or a belt sander maybe.
I'd echo the (random) orbital sander suggestion, on the basis that you're at risk of putting more scratches on it (or sanding across the grain in the first photo) with a belt sander.

If you're sloppy i would agree. Just rip away any slight scratches on the middle rail after doing the thinner rails.
Anyway, he might not even own a beltie.
