Hello, I have just moved house which has a beautiful stainless steel cooker hood, model D8602N0GB/05. Sadly, the extractor fan is very noisy and is no longer made by Bosch, part # 00495859. I am loathe to throw away the entire hood and get a new one because of a failed component. Can anyone recommend any other motor which would be compatible?

Thanks!

B.

They are so cheap maybe just replace it. I had similar problem and for £85 we got a new one.

Do you mean the motor? I'd love to. But I don't know the voltages etc. Do you mean the entire cooker hood with fan? Can't believe that would be £85. Details please?

Currently £82. Probably different to your design?

Take old motor apart and look and brushes for interest

I have to agree with Wayners if the motor was available it would be as expensive as a complete new fan. But what do you mean by noisy, Extractor fans are always noisy from new. If it is making unusual screeching or rattling noises it should be possible to strip the motor and degrease the impellar and replace or maybe even just clean and lubricate the bearings.

That sounds like a solution! Beyond my skills, so would you have any idea how I could find someone to do that? Lawnmower servicers?
By noisy, I mean random high pitched screeching, sometimes alleviated by hitting the motor body. I wondered if it was bearing related. The motor has got to be getting on for 25 years old - it was certainly on sale that long ago.

Thanks for your help!
