Hi all,
I've been doing a bit of work on my landing and into an upstairs extension room. Pulling up the bit of chipboard in the doorway reveals the below situation
The existing arrangement is that the bit of chipboard that sits in the doorway and covers the exposed masonry, is supported by the ends of the landing beams, the exposed masonry at the sides (sort of) and the tongue and groove on the remaining edge. Seems like a bit of a bodge to me so although it's been fine for many years, while I've got all this up I'd like to sort it properly.
What would that typically look like? Knock the masonry back a bit where needed and dot and dab a couple of bits of plasterboard across the top, level with the tops of the joists and the underside of the chipboard?
