Hello,

I've seen several responses regarding Bosch dishwashers having a flood prevention activated. I think I may have this issue (all my symptoms match) but I'd like to know if by tipping it over, would water come out if the flood prevention has been activated? I guess I am asking if the flood prevention is the cause, would water need to be in the bottom, or could it get activated without water there?

This discussion is exact issues I have for reference:

If the American machine is similar to the European one then there will be a water spillage if the machine is tipped onto it's side.
The only way to tell if it's actually flooded or disloged is to take the top and left hand side panel off. You'll see the water matrix, fill system and anti flood device

Thanks so very much, as far as I can tell the only difference between the american version and others is the power and other fittings..

I suspect since no water came out, that I have a dislodged component.

I am hoping at least, as I've already replaced the inlet solenoid.

OK first off, many thanks to sleepyhead, you are a pro diagnostic.

It was precisely what was suggested by this poster!! My flood check 'float' was stuck in the flooded postion. Little did I know (being a foolish american) that in Europe there is little if any liquid auto dish soap. I had been using this all along and apparently it is not good for the Bosch's!

Again, gunked up flood detection system. Cleaned and had it working in under 2 minutes (took a good 1/2 hour to actually CLEAN it proper, but had it working within minutes!
