How wide are skim beads?

Because I was wondering if there's really any difference if the edges of reveal boards terminate at the room face of the wall boards, or are the reveal boards best tucked in behind the wall boards?

Maybe the corner is lost behind the skim beads anyway, so it makes no difference?
