Yeah, I feel bad for the workman, but its the guy they advised that I gave the job to for scaffolding. That scaffolding could do with a few more boards.
Andy
tbh Im probably too lazy and incompetent to do that, I have below average spacial skills. Ill see how clean I can get it with a normal hose first. I'm replacing the fascia as the workmen cant render up far enough to it, so may as well get new ones rather than doing any patch work.I would take them down clean them with hot soapy water and bleach and realign the facia brackets before putting the gutter back up.
I'd say that's an accident waiting to happen and seeing as you're aware of it that makes you liable too. That scaffolding could do with a few more boards.
Andy
Agreed. That info wasn't given in the opening post.If the facia is being replaced then replace all the guttering.
Andy
You mentioned you're replacing the fascia? As Herts P&D advised, in that scenario (and given the guttering evidently isn't new-ish), you're as well replacing it as well. The guttering is plastic, even though it might be old, should last decades though right? I see no leak or anything. Or am I wrong with thinking how long plastic gutters last, and actually it may in fact be decades old already
