So the costs are rising and there will be 'delays'...

Linky Linky

Inevitable of course, but you've got to keep the corporate party donors happy by blowing tens of billions of taxpayers' money on a folly!

Those who oversaw the (£250m) Spanish railway error did the honorable thing and resigned...

Does anyone think the same will happen in the UK?

The whole project should be axed and the rest of the money spent on improving the Northern railway system in general.

They slipped that one in while Lineker was in the news. Doubtless asylum seekers will be blamed.....Roll on the red wall.

Blup

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Lol. ellal calling out something that was promised but never happened! Anyway, any delays are going to be up North and everyone knows that Northeners are hated by Ellal so you think he'd be laughing at that news.

Of course its nothing to do with the Pandemic, the war, record inflation and the world recession is it? When has any major project ever come in on time and on budget? I'm surprised people are surprised.

Sad state of affairs though, when we have been conditioned to expect governments (of all hues) to be feggin' hopeless with our money, on big capital and infrastructure projects.

It's a good concept but all sorts of bad in being implemented.
I seriously doubt adding a delay will curb any costs

Might be some thing to do with the tunnels will be to small for the trains ?

The Spanish syndrome funded by EU tax payers money :ROFLMAO:

The announcement incurred the wrath of the Speaker for not announcing it first to parliament. Classic case of trying to bury bad news.

Blup

The troll of course has missed out a major factor...

Brexit!

Higher labour costs (which it wanted), but now there is also a skill shortage (which was inevitable) and we're going to have to import workers from further out...

Which means of course a different 'type' of immigrant - is that what it voted for?

Then there is the fact that brexiteers welcomed the crash in the pound (they knew what they were voting for didn't they?), which since most materials are imported puts up the costs...

I could say that mottie/motman is being juvenile...

But given his age I guess a more accurate description would be senile...

You're gonna cut yourself on that sharp tongue of yours one day you beast! Is it working in the care home that's brought on your hatred of anyone over the age of 60?

Doubtful.
Really?

Could you explain how imported materials/goods/oil etc don't cost more given the value of the pound versus the Euro/Dollar now as opposed to before 23/06/16?

And could you tell us how labour cost rises have nothing to do with the loss of EU workers leading to a skills shortage?
