Just installed an unconnected copy of Thunderbird to store and view old emails.
Found this very early email:

Well, now you've got Thunderbird, why not just use it?

That mail is from the beginning of time as we know it.

It's on Mrs Secure's lappy.

She's using Live Mail for all her current stuff, but wanted emails from the old desktop importing separately, so she has clear segregation.

Funny you should mention using Thunderbird, I have been doing for years, but I'm a bit miffed with it at the moment:

I wanted to start on top when replying (ooh err!), so went into the settings and changed it, but it still starts underneath......

So, I have dabbled with Live Mail.

Live Mail now, though, is doing strange stuff.....

Like when I reply, I send the email. Then as I close WLM down, it tells me that there's an email in my outbox and do I want to send it? So I click yes, and shut down WLM.

Next time I go into WLM, I fing the email not send, so I go to outbox and click on it.

It opens up, but the content is missing.

Weird, huh?

Just as a note, those settings are on a per-account basis, not global.
