Hello, first off i've tried avoiding posting about this by searching about my problem which has pointed me in the right direction but still.....

Anyway, I've been in my house for over a year and we have a potterton suprima 60 boiler with hot water tank in loft. I have only become aware of this noise since about last month.

Using searches and that here, found that yes my noise is coming from the pump (a wilo gold 50 on second speed setting out of 3). I have yet to bleed it as per the faq section as i didn't know whether to turn heating and hot water off before i start turning that screw?

The pump isn't secured down very well either and read that this could cause humming in the pipes, viable indeed but i would of thought that i would of noticed a long time ago if true!

Or is the pump on its way out and time for a new one?

The noise has been driving me potty of late and can be heard all over the house. I've had set the hot water on timer so it doesn't disturb my reading and sleeping!!!

Thanks in advance...

Try bleeding with system turned off, if that don't work try it with system on, simples!

Ok done that, didn't seem to be any air in there.

And its still the same

Any other help......? :D

I had this with a Grundfoss which was starting to wear its bearings. Less noise on lower setting, more on higher. I replaced it - noise gone.

Alternatively if the humming is getting on your nerves you could try teaching it the words.....

Ok decided then, Its moved up to the top of the do list.

Thanks for your posts.

Will drag this thread up and post results.......one day.
