HW tap no longer working

Could anyone give me some tips on how to fix this tap? It's been fine for many years but this morning opening the tap results in just a very small dribble of water. The cold tap works fine. I've given the diverter a bit of a workout, makes no difference. The tap turns freely, just no water comes out (well just a dribble). I have no idea how to fix it but can't afford to pay hundreds for this at the moment.

Take out the brass cartridge, which may need replaced, and check the washer.

Thanks very much for the advice. Took the cartridge out. Took it apart, used some wd40 on it put it back together and it’s working fine again. If I ever need to replace the cartridge I’d know how to now as well. Many thanks saved me a cold shower in the morning.
