Good afternoon!
I have purchased a second hand hydroponic/aquarium chiller unit from the interwebs. It was used for an aquarium last time and I'm going to be using it to keep nutrients solution for an RDWC hydro system cool so it needs cleaning out before hand.
I took the shell off the chiller, no issues there and want to remove the tank so I can clean it properly and really make sure all the crap is out (There's a lot of crap in there).
Attached to the tank are 4 lines from what I can see.
• Inlet
• Outlet
• Copper line attached to compressor
• Copper line attached to condenser
Could I remove the two copper lines without loosing refrigerant or getting sick from the fumes? I'm not quite sure how a chiller works, I know there refrigerant in there somewhere and it must come in/out of one of these lines.
Also, how would I go about re-gassing the unit if the refrigerant does happen to come out?
