I have a Hygena AHY8101/2 which is about 6 years old. Recently water started leaking out of the front door which I am pretty sure is due to a build up of water in the machine; when the cycle has finished the water remains at the bottom of the machine. I have checked the drainage pipes which are fine. The operating manual recommends I try removing the siphon stop valve and/or unhook the draining rod, but as I have no idea what either of these things is, that does't help me much. I suspect this is a pump problem but don't want to waste money on a new pump (or new dishwasher) without making sure first. Any thoughts?

Blockage or faulty pump is the obvious answers.
